Nick Hyatt was born in the summer of 1980 in Austin, Texas, where he was raised and has lived most of his life. The son of an artist and a musician, he spent his childhood learning the fundamentals of art from his mother, an accomplished painter and designer.
Nick attended Austin Community College, where he discovered a fondness for painting, eventually earning an Associates degree in Art in 2001. He currently attends St. Edward's University where he is working on his Bachelor's degree in Art, with a projected graduation in May 2012.
During his time at St. Edward's, Nick has developed a passion for relief printmaking, as well as ceramic sculpture and pottery, which has become his main artistic focus. His ceramic work has received honorable mention in the 2010 St. Edward's Student Juried Exhibition and First Place in the 3D division of the 17th Annual Juried Exhibition at the Carnegie Arts Center in Alliance, Nebraska, where he currently shows his work.
